ECHO, Ore. — Residents living near the Echo Hills Golf Course should prepare for a planned water shutoff beginning around 9:00 a.m. Wednesday as contractors complete a critical phase of the City’s Water System Improvement Project.

The temporary outage is necessary to install a bypass line and complete upgrades to the Golf Course Booster Pump Station. This work is part of the final phase of Echo’s water infrastructure improvements and will improve the long-term reliability of the City’s water system.

Areas Expected to Be Affected

Water service is expected to be interrupted for properties located on or near:

* Smith Drive

* Golf Course Road

* Gerone Street (from Golf Course Road to the pressure-reducing station near the irrigation ditch)

* Fullerton Road

* Cottage Lane

* Echo Hills Golf Course and Clubhouse

What to Expect

Water service is expected to be shut off beginning around 9:00 a.m. Wednesday.

Residents should plan for the possibility of being without water for approximately 6 to 8 hours. While crews are hopeful service can be restored sooner, the exact timeline will depend on underground conditions encountered during construction and the progress of the work.

How to Prepare

Residents in the affected area are encouraged to:

* Take showers and complete household water needs before 9:00 a.m.

* Fill pitchers, jugs, or buckets with water for drinking, cooking, and household use.

* Store enough water to flush toilets during the outage.

* Plan ahead for any medical, business, or other household water needs.

City staff will distribute door hangers Tuesday to homes and businesses within the affected area to provide additional notice before the planned shutdown.

 

 

Wednesday’s work will allow contractors to install a temporary bypass line around the Golf Course Booster Pump Station. Once the bypass is in place, crews can continue rebuilding and upgrading the booster station while reducing future water service interruptions for nearby customers.

This project represents one of the final steps in the City’s ongoing Water System Improvement Project and is designed to improve the reliability, capacity, and long-term performance of Echo’s water system.

The City understands temporary water outages can be inconvenient and appreciates residents’ patience as crews work to complete the project safely and restore service as quickly as possible.
